We had a great weekend! We headed back to Zilker Park to take Evie to the Nature Preserve and then stopped off to grab sno-cones to cool off. Saturday we went to one of our favorite coffee shops (Houndstooth Coffee), then headed on a scavenger hunt around Austin to various local businesses for Austin City Limits Festival scratch off lottery tix for a chance at 2 Vip weekend passes. We did not win but had a blast finding each location and scurrying to grab them before they ran out. For lunch, we headed to Frank for some gourmet hot dogs. We finished out the day by heading over the Austin Auto Show.

Today, Evie and I went back to Houndstooth to hang for a while. I had a latte, she had a lemon cakeball or two. After that, we headed to Town Lake to play on the hill that has a great view of downtown and then joined another ACL ticket search. Again, no luck but it was fun. We finished off the weekend with Evie playing in her pool and breakfast for supper...

Where did the weekend go? One thing is for sure... TIME FLIES WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN!!!

With a toddler in tow, we headed to downtown Austin to experience some of the daytime South by Southwest festivities. Bryan was able to see a few free shows at night, including Kayne West. Although, he did have to stand in line for 3-4 hours and didn't get home until 4 am....not my idea of fun, but he said it was worth it!!

Expanding Family

Kristin had a check-up yesterday with her ob/gyn. Things are going well. The baby boy is growing healthily and happily. We are anxiously awaiting his arrival in late June/early July. We have decided on a first name but are still in negotiations about the middle name.

This weekend flew by!

They seem to fly by so fast. We had a great weekend! Evie and I got to hang out Friday afternoon at Lady Bird Johnson Lake aka Town Lake, while Kristin was able to be productive. We also went to Houndstooth Coffee were I enjoyed a Latte and Evie enjoyed a lemon cake ball. The Dessert Diva's are still better in our opinion but too far to enjoy. After we picked up Kristin, we had P.Terry's hamburgers and shakes. Evie loves shakes. Then we went home.

Saturday we lounged until after lunch and then explored an furniture consignment shop and found some cool things and a couch that we may eventually get for the office/dance party room.

We then ventured to our favorite area in Austin, South Congress for snacks... We hit up The Mighty Cone and Hopdoddy for a shake.... Evie was in heaven again.

Today, we went to Houndstooth again and then enjoyed playing in the backyard and bbqing in the afternoon.

With a light dusting on the roads, everything was closed for the day...including Bryan's office!

We went outside for a few pictures, but Evie was not too thrilled about this cold stuff. So, instead of playing in the snow, we went inside to warm our house with freshly baked cookies!

Even though it was great to have an extra day home with Bryan,

I remembered how much I really dislike the white stuff!!!

P.S. It was all melted, sunny & warm right after lunch time!

It has been a worldwind since Dec 23rd until now. We managed to visit family in Louisiana and the Midwest in a bout 9 days. It was great to see our loved ones and is always disappointing when we can't make it to see our friends as well.

Turning 30!!

Well, I must admit that turning 30 wasn't really all that bad! My 20's were filled with much joy and great sadness. So, I truly feel like I earned that 'grown-up' feeling & sense of respect from other adults that comes with saying, 'Yes, I am 30':) To celebrate my big birthday, we all went to a show (without the kiddos) at the Shadowbox Cabaret in Northern KY/Cincy and had more than a few laughs!! I could post a video of my dad being pulled up on stage, but I'll spare him....for now, anyway!!

It was a wonderful 2.5 weeks with the tree. The aroma would hit you me in the face and I was taken back to childhood Christmases. Unfortunately, the tree has been causing Evie and Kristin's allergies to go bananas. Tis a sad, sad day! For we shall ne'er have another live tree again.

We had a great Friday evening in Austin at Southpark Meadows. They had a great light set up programmed to sync with Christmas music. Evie enjoyed the lights, danced to the music , and played on the slides.
